Amiel Goldberg has represented District 13 on Stamford's Board of Representatives since he was first elected in November 2021, taking 1,206 votes in a three-way race won alongside running mate Eric Morson (CT Secretary of the State results). He was re-elected in November 2025 with 1,169 votes — a figure reported by Patch, which the state's own results database does not yet carry (Patch). He also sits on the city's Water Pollution Control Authority as the Board's designee, in a second term running to 2029 (WPCA roster), and is a former member of the Board's Personnel and Redistricting committees. He is the endorsed Democratic candidate for the 149th House District in 2026, challenging Republican incumbent Tina Courpas (Greenwich Free Press); his committee is registered with the state and has been awarded a Citizens' Election Program grant (SEEC).
He spent roughly three decades in finance and risk: investment banking at UBS Securities, Chief Risk Officer at GE Asset Management, executive consultant at IBM Global Business Services, and heading a quantitative risk and liquidity platform in BNY Mellon's corporate treasury. He is now mostly retired and does contract consulting — note that the Board's own member page still lists BNY Mellon as his current occupation, which is out of date. He holds a B.S. in finance and management science from the University of South Carolina and an M.S. in financial risk management from the University of Connecticut (official biography; Greenwich Free Press).
He grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and has lived in Stamford's Westover neighbourhood since 2007. Outside elected office he has been vice president of Temple Sinai Stamford, vice president and treasurer of the United Jewish Federation of Stamford, Darien and New Canaan, a trustee of the Stamford Jewish Community Centre, and treasurer of the Stillmeadow School parent-faculty organisation (official biography).
